Champ is the perfect combination of energetic outside and totally chill inside. He is an excellent walking or running partner: wearing his gentle leader head collar, he trots along right next to you and can keep up a good pace. Inside, he is content to snooze and relax. He loves being petted and is very affectionate, and will lean into you to ask for more. His foster mom says that he is a champion snuggler, and loves to help her when she is doing her exercises, giving her lots of encouraging kisses. He's calm, quiet, polite, and friendly with every human he meets.

Champ grew up being well-loved and well-cared for. When his owner suffered a serious decline in health and was no longer able to care for him properly, Champ found himself alone and homeless, given to a shelter when no other home could be found for him.

Champ is housetrained, crate-trained, and shows a healthy respect for cats, based on tests done at the shelter. He was even calm when introduced to a rabbit in a cage. He is fine seeing dogs out on his walks, but he is much more interested in having human friends than dog friends, and prefers to be the only dog in the home. With his buff and white coat, Champ is a very handsome gentleman who would love to have a family and a home of his own.
