Hogan is a very cute little dog with a big and memorable personality. He knows some commands, and is very cuddly and loving. He takes a short-time to warm up once at home and will be absolutely devoted to his owner, which he will try to prove every chance he'll get. What makes Hogan different is that he has two big fears: one of children and another of strangers. Because of this, he doesn't show well at adoption events because those are typically filled with both. He gets growly and might even try to bite to protect himself from perceived danger. He was caught as a stray in rural Virginia, so who knows what this little guy seen or lived through to make him this way? Because of his unique disposition, he would do best with a confident, dominant owner and possibly former military household with established rules and little traffic. He is good with other dogs, plays/ignores cats and loves nothing more than to be allowed to curl up next to you on a couch. He walks great on a leash, comes when called, and is totally housebroken and crate-trained. Once in a home where he feels safe and understood, Hogan will relax and show his super affectionate, intelligent and lighthearted couch-potatoey side.
