Max Well - Adopted on 7/1/2011

From his loving foster dad: "If you heard Boxers are high energy, this one is not all the time. He is chill when you want him to be so and does enjoy laying around at the foot of the couch. However, if you take him out he walks well on the leash, which is imperative for a dog with his size and strength. He also does well running. He took to trail running like a champ and followed or led when the trail was too narrow for the both of us. Another high point in my book is that he does not bark. I have not heard one bark from him yet. He is friendly with people and other dogs. He was also fine with cats, but the cats he met were not big fans of dogs. He is currently being crated during the day because he is left home alone from 8-6, but he does sleep at the foot of my bed during the night and does not have problems with that." Maxwell has a lot of great qualities but he also has some challenges. He is highly possessive of things and will need a strong dog savvy owner and continued training to manage this. We will not consider any room mate situations for Maxwell and prefer to place him with a home owner vs a rental situation.
