URGENT: We are looking for a good Samaritan who can foster or make room in their home and heart for two wonderful, purebred senior yellow labs. They are very laid back and gentle. Both are great with kids and other dogs, but they've never been around a cat. Max (the 11 year old male) is more energetic than Gus (short for Augusta who is the 12 year old female), but both are very low maintenance and very loving. They are people dogs and love to be wherever we are.
Unfortunately Gus and Max's mom is a senior and is unable to take care of them any longer and is distraught in needing to rehome them. Neither has any health issues that are known. They are housebroken and go up/down about four stairs to go out, so stairs are not an issue. They are in Roanoke, VA. They cuddle together when they sleep. They've been together for 11 years and get along great. They put their heads in your lap and look at you with their loving eyes. They are registered yellow labs and have been long-time, loving companions to the elderly couple. They are spayed/neutered and up to date on shots. They just need someone to love them as much as this family has. The family is offering to pay for food for 6 months if they can remain together. A local rescue group is helping screen for the right family.
