Peter is a beautiful collie, about one year old. He is incredibly loving and gentle and wants only to please and cuddle people. You only have to show him once what you expect of him and he will remember forever. He is house trained and crate trained and knows some basic commands, like come, sit, and down, but he is eager and capable of learning whatever you want to teach him! He loves to play with his toys and is learning to fetch. He is submissive and playful with other dogs, loves all people, including small children, and would probably be fine with cats, as he does not even chase squirrels!
Peter has recently had a lot of transitions in his life and is a little unsure in new situations. He came to HART with his brother, who has since been adopted. Peter was most likely an outside dog before his rescue, and he and brother had spent their entire lives together. Peter had to make two really difficult transitions: living inside the house and being away from his brother for the first time in his life. He has made amazing progress and learned stairs, staying in a crate, playing with toys, etc., and will only continue to get more comfortable. He would be happier to share a home with another dog.
