Hi! My name is Captain. I'm a loveable, mellow, foxhound looking for a quiet, comfortable life with a family. I was found as a stray in the Southampton Virginia area. When the kind person rescued me from the street, I had numerous sores and was very emaciated. I weighed only 36 lbs that day. I've gained some weight and I'm working my way towards an ideal weight of about 65 lbs. I'm in a foster home now and getting lots of love and amazing baths. Bath time feels so good.
Being in a house is a new experience, but it is so comfy and nice. I ignore the kitties in the home and am gentle with the young kids. Glass doors and TVs are very confusing. Overall I am a very quiet guy, but occasionally I like to test my howl. Sadly, I don't understand what playing is, but I am beginning to learn how to wag my tail. It makes me so content to sit in a warm home. I prefer the floor to the sofa.
I love food! I am very friendly with other dogs and people.
HART has given me a second chance and I can't wait to find my forever home.
