What a wonderful dog! She's housebroken, doesn't chew anything she shouldn't, is crate trained but doesn't need a crate, is low energy in the house but will gladly go for a nice long walk at your side every day, loves to go for car rides and is calm in the car. She loves to be by your side but isn't pushy about it. Maddie can be left in the house for long periods of time without separation anxiety. She will just sleep until you get home. Like any other dog she would prefer being with you as much as possible but is fine being by herself. She lets you wipe her paws, cut her nails and give a bath. Maddie knows her basic commands: come, sit, down and whatever else you want to teach her.

So this is where Maddie needs help. In the past she has been leash reactive with other dogs. Therefor we recommend a home that is not in the hustle and bustle of things. With the Shepherd in her she can also be protective. She will need an owner who will let her know that she doesn't have to protect. An owner who will work on her insecurities and help set her up for success. Can she live with another dog? Yes, she could live with several as long as the pack is balanced. The owner would have to be in charge of the pack.

Could she be an only dog? Absolutely! She will be the girl by your side and follow you to the moon and back. Maddie can be a little insecure from time to time in new situations and with new people. Give her time, leadership and patience and in return you will get the most amazing dog.
