Alex and Haley are beautiful girls who love each other & want to find their forever home together. They came to HART from a high kill shelter with their mother & brother Luke. Their mom was scared & couldn't get over her fears enough to be able to provide adequate love & nourishment for her family. Luke suffered from this & at 3 weeks mom began to push Luke away. He would hungrily eat from a syringe & toddle over to us for affection. He sought from us the love & affection that his mom wasn't able to provide. We loved Luke & we fought for him, but in the end he wasn't strong enough to survive. After we lost Luke, A & H clung to their mother & unfortunately started to mimic her ways. They weren't afraid of us, but they didn't seek our affection & didn't want to be touched. When A & H were old enough we found a quiet place for mom. Since then A & H have blossomed & their journey has been very special. They started as kittens who thought people were strange & have evolved into little kittens who enjoy touch & seek attention. At first they would tolerate being held, & now they are eager to see us, they greet us with tails up & trills, & they purr & lean in to our touch. They had a choice & they chose to trust & love. A & H are funny girls & they are best friends. They are playful & fun to watch. They love toys, batting at toes & wrestling with each other & they love taking a nap on the back of the sofa next to their people when all is calm. A & H promise to bring you years of joy & fun.
