What a terrific dog! Captain has all the great qualities of a Great Dane without the drool (or the size). He's just 75 pounds of sweetness. He's easy-going, affectionate, quiet, attentive, nice to walk, and plays keep-away with unadulterated glee. He's housebroken, and has free roam of the house - he has not been destructive. He's much more comfortable around women, but with patience and consistency he warms up to men too. Captain loves people and wants nothing more than to please them and be with them. Being alone for very long stretches would be very hard for him, but he does great at a party. He's fine with some dogs and not so keen with others, so I think formal introductions are preferred. The car is his happy place and if the door is open, he is IN for the ride. So, if you're looking for a co-pilot, Captain may be your dog. Some other observations: He's a Velcro dog to me. He doesn't bark unless left behind. He needs some training but seems to be learning what I spend time on. He doesn't put his nose where you don't want it 🙂,, He doesn't beg!
