Overview | Event Info | Runners | Volunteers | Sponsors
An event like this requires a lot of volunteers, and we need help in the following areas.
In addition to hoping everyone will share on social media, we have a few other physical ways to advertise the event and spread the word!
Volunteers will take promotional fliers, provided by us, to leave with local businesses in the Greenbriar area or with places of their own choosing that may be a great venue to advertise. Places include dog grooming salons, pet stores, veterinarian offices, doggie day cares, pet food stores, gyms, community centers, etc. The more varied, the better! And people come from all over for this event, so share wherever you can!
We are looking for folks to go around the Greenbriar Community and hand out fliers for the big event. All you need to do is either give a friendly hello and pass along the flier or just put it in the homeowner's mail box. We want to gather interest in the event as well as let the neighborhood know what is going on for that Sunday. We will provide all the materials, you just head out when you are able. We would like to do this starting in mid-April.
Our runners need their bibs, shirts, and swag bags! Duties include organizing/handing out shirts, preparing goodie bags, assisting runners with finding their bib number, greeting participants with smiles and answering questions/providing race information.

There is a lot of work that goes into making this race a success. We have a variety of positions suited for everyone. None are ridiculously labor intensive, but some may require light lifting or standing. All of these activities will be near our starting/finish line by the Total Wine parking lot.
Time Needed: 8AM-9:30AMAssist with laying out the cones on the course and putting up the appropriate distance markers.
Time Needed: 8AM-10AMThese volunteers will assist in pack pickup duties (see above) as well as enter and take care of any same-day registrations (assisting with form fill-out, swag hand-out, and payment).
Time Needed: 8AM-10:30AMThese volunteers will ensure that racers park int he back of the Total Wine parking lot or at Dogfish. We will also need these volunteers at the end of the alley to ensure that cars do not try to go through the start/finish area.
Time Needed: 7AM-10AMGreet our volunteers and point them in the right direction. Hand out name tags and verify contact information.
Time Needed: 7AM-10AMHelp us get the main event squared away! We'll need help setting up the food and water tables, audio equipment, and help organizing the stuff for packet pickup/registration.
These positions will help our runners stay on course, stay motivated, and stay hydrated!
Time Needed: 10AM-11:30AM (or when all runners are done)Smile and point! This position just requires you to make sure the racers stay on course. There will be cones and directional signs, but sometimes they may be missed or someone may get confused. Additional cheering on of the runners is highly encouraged!
Time Needed: 10AM-11:30AM (or when all runners are done)Make some noise for our runners! Be there when they cross the finish and make them feel great about what they accomplished. The more folks we have showing support for these runners the better! Everyone has spirit and we want to see and hear yours!!!
Time Needed: 10AM-11:30AM (or when all runners are done)Help keep the path clean for the finishing runners and make sure they see where the water and post-race snacks are set up. Hand out water as needed. Congratulate our racers!
Time Needed: 10AM-11:30AM (or when all runners are done)Be there in case someone needs medical assistance. We'll have two First Aid stations and would like two volunteers per station. No medical training necessary, just the ability to be present and get details. If there is an incident that requires more than a band-aid, you'll call one of the event directors and we'll send help.
Time Needed: 10AM-11:30AM (or when all runners are done)Hand out that refreshing beverage we all know and love. We'll have two water stations on the course and would like at least two people per station. Fill cups and hand out/replenish as necessary.
All good things must come to an end and this race will be one of them. Help us make it a thing of the past and get everything picked up and packed up.

Time Needed: 11AM-12PM (or after all runners are done)You know exactly what this means. :) We'll have some four-legged racers/supporters and don't want to leave any messes behind! Some volunteers will need to walk the course.
This set up will be going on the same time as the race set up. The goal is to be finished by the time the race is done so that runners can mosey on over to this event for the after party! This set up will take place in the Dogfish Head parking lot.
Time Needed: 7AM-10AMHelp set up tents and tables for our HART Store and Raffle area. Display items for sale, make "raffle hugs," and showcase those amazing raffle items. Also may require some running back and forth between this job and race set up.
So now that the race is over, we can party! We promise you can play and volunteer at the same time. This really is a fun event! All of these positions will be located in the Dogfish Head parking lot. Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts.
