Look at that big, happy smile! Wouldn't it make you feel better to come home to that every day?! Dusta is a super-sweet girl who was saved in the nick of time. She was dumped at a rural southern shelter where there are almost no adoptions, just a never-ending line of people dumping their dogs, especially now that summer is here, schools is almost over, and who could be bothered taking care of a pet when there are vacations to go on. The shelter was out of space and Dusta was scheduled to be euthanized in just a few hours to make room for the next group of dogs who were being processed in. The shelter volunteers were so distraught at the thought of Dusta and two other really wonderful dogs being euthanized that they put out another emergency appeal, but no one responded. Not until one of our rescue partners reached out to us, told us how wonderful these dogs are, and asked us if we could save just one of them. Well, of course we couldn't leave the other two behind to face certain death, so Dusta and her friends came to HART.

Dusta is a happy, friendly, incredibly sweet and loving girl who just wants a family of her own who will be as loyal and loving to her as she will be to them.
