As people, we all hope that we have those that love us around in our last days. Unfortunately for Roxie, her story is quite sad. She is a 12 year old pit bull and her owners encountered some personal difficulties and ended up needing to take her to the shelter. Luckily for her, HART was able to rescue Roxie so that she can spend her last days in a loving home, whether it is her current foster home or her forever home. Roxie is a sweet, loving girl that loves affection. Even though she is 12 years old, she still has that pittie spunk and has loved playing with her foster sister Apple, a small dog. As expected, Roxie does have some medical issues due to her age. She has a mammary tumor, but it has not spread, high cholesterol, some liver issue, and perhaps had a stroke at some point. Her right side is weak, so she has some balance issues and trouble with stairs, but has been a champ going up and down them (check out the YouTube videos). We also think she has limited vision. Thanks to HART, she will get the vet care she needs. Come out and meet this sweet, older girl!
