Lauren joined our family on November 10, 2012 and we named her Daisy. She was terribly thin and (we thought) shy. Turns out she was reserved and regal, a true princess. She recovered quickly from her neglect and it shows in the photo - she had the most beautiful pure white coat, white eyelashes, and deep, soulful brown eyes. An elegant lady all around. We moved to Old Town Alexandria and Daisy adjusted well to this neighborhood where dogs are king (and queen). Her gentle nature made her a favorite of neighborhood kids, who called her "the polar bear." As she slowed down the last two years, her walking range was limited to just a few blocks, but she stayed loyal to the tight-knit group of dogs and humans who knew and loved her best.
To our everlasting sorrow, Daisy was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly before Thanksgiving. She crossed the rainbow bridge on December 11, 2019 with the help of the wonderful staff at Lap of Love.
