Here is the plea we received from a shelter about Gus:
"We are desperately trying to help this sweet boy to have relief from a condition he has obviously suffered through for many months/years. Gus was owner-surrendered to the shelter today with the worst cherry eyes we have ever seen, and, yet, he smiles and wags his tail through what must be horrible discomfort and pain. Gus is about three years old and good with other dogs. Any chance you might be able to help him?"
Of course we said YES! Turns out he may have had surgery on the cherry eyes before and he had some growths on the lower lids as well. The people who are taking care of him tell me he likes to vocalize when they take him out, but he goes into his crate easily and tries to charm all the vet techs. His picture is much prettier now that his eyes are taken care of.
