Trixie is an easy-going, loving, well-mannered dog who was surrendered with her best friend, Spot, by her owner in South Carolina for personal reasons, due to no fault of her own.
Trixie's favorite pastimes are going for long walks, sleeping, and eating! She walks great on leash and is happy to greet other dogs along the way. She is house-trained and can be trusted to free roam the house.
She gets along well with other dogs and pays no attention to cats. She is currently in a home without other pets, but she has been in a homes before with other dogs and cats. Trixie was also wonderful with the kids, ages 3 and 7, in her temporary SC foster home.
Did we mention she looooooves food? Trixie is known to counter surf and pull things out of recycling if food/food containers are left out in plain sight. Easy fix - don't leave food lying around!
Sadly, being separated from her brother and has left Trixie extremely cautious and shy around new people. Once she gets to know you, she will revert to her normal loving and laid-back self - can you say attention-seeking shadow! She would do best in a home where her people are home for much of the day (even post-pandemic).
How can you resist an almost perfect dog who will stare longingly into your eyes until you pet her? She will rub her face in your chest, tuck her head under your chin, and cuddle up under your arm for as long as you're willing to love on her. Seriously adorable, in all sense of the word!
