Looking for a fun, happy, sweet, and absolutely adorable companion (and who isn't?!)? Meet Ernest! This handsome young man is friendly and fun, and incredibly sweet. Ernest is a moderate energy dog who loves his walks and playtime, and seems to enjoy himself wherever he is and whatever he is doing. One of his favorite games is fetch. He will wait politely until you throw the ball, chase it down very enthusiastically, then bring it back and give it to you to throw again. And if you don't want to play, that's ok too. He just figures out a way to entertain himself.
Ernest was turned in to the shelter as a "stray" weighing an emaciated 33.4 pounds. In two weeks, he gained almost 10 pounds, until he reached his present weight of 42 pounds. Ultimately his owners were found and they surrendered ownership. It appears the other dog in the home was getting all the food, and they didn't bother to step in and make sure poor Ernest got his share. Despite his initial deprived start in life, he doesn't seem to hold his initial adversity against anyone. To Ernest, everyone is a potential friend, playmate, and cuddle partner.
Ernest will be a wonderful companion for a person or family looking for a smart dog who loves to play active games.
