Tucker S - Adopted on 5/10/2020

Age:  3 years
Gender:  Male
Breed:  English Pointer

Tucker is a sweet, happy guy with a heart of gold who bonds quickly with people and is friendly and outgoing with other dogs. A big athletic hound with lots of energy, Tucker came to HART underfed and with signs of having been abused. He initially cringed when people reached out to pet him and his teeth show signs of wear consistent with having been chained up. Tucker is now completely at ease in his foster home, where he has blossomed into a happy-go-lucky, playful fellow who follows humans from room to room and loves to curl up next to anyone watching TV.

Tucker's fosters have worked to break him of leg-lifting habits indoors, and he would benefit from obedience classes overall. He isn't bad on a leash and with a little work could be a good jogging buddy. He does well in a crate after whining for a while, has shown no destructive tendencies, and hardly ever barks in his foster home. He loves long walks and play time with humans and other dogs.

Tucker would do well with an experienced and patient owner with a firm but gentle hand who is home most of the time and will provide lots of instruction, exercise, neck scratches, and belly rubs. He'll show boundless love and devotion in return.
