Banjo is a very special boy with a big heart. He is very loving and loves resting his big head in your lap for some love. His favorite place to be is right by his people.

Banjo is deaf but he doesn't let it dampen his spirits. He is very smart and is learning hand signals. He is very intuitive at reading body language and does a pretty good job at figuring out what you want him to do. When his foster mom smiles at him and talks to him, he wags his tail and walks over even though he can't hear her.

Banjo follows the energy of the people he is with. If you're calm, he is content to nap at your feet. If you want to go out and run and play, he is all over that too with lots of playful energy. He loves tug and fetch. He puts his heart and soul into a game of tug and his foster mom hasn't won against him yet! Banjo is very athletic and can jump a 4 foot fence and would need to be supervised in the yard at all times as he could possibly jump a higher fence.

Banjo should be in a home with adults or older calm children who won't startle him with unexpected sudden movements or running. Banjo adores the 12 year old in his foster home but forgets his size sometimes and could knock a smaller person over if he gets too wound up during playtime.

Banjo is generally well behaved in the home - he is house trained, crate trained, and doesn't get into much mischief. He does need some work on his leash skills though - when you can't hear, there are just sooo many interesting things to smell!
