Rowland is a great combination of friendly and playful, while still being pretty low energy. He is usually pretty quiet, but will sometimes vocalize when he's excited. He has mastered Sit, and is working on Crate, Car, and Come. He is house trained and is very relaxed in his crate. He is slowly learning that not all car rides end at the vet. He gets along great with other dogs and loves to play with the dogs in his foster home. He wants to be friends with the cats in his foster home, but is respectful when they are not interested. Rowland has done really well with all of the kids he's met, but he can sometimes be possessive of his family when at home. For this reason he would do best in an adult only home, where his interactions with guests can be monitored. He takes correction well, so his foster does not think this behavior will be difficult to retrain, with practice and consistency. Rowland would love a yard, but he has a typical hound nose and will follow a scent trail right over a 4' fence. He needs a home where he can be leash walked, the fence is taller, or there is some other intervention in place. Rowland is also being treated for skin allergies that make him itchy, but he doesn't let that interrupt his good time!
