Meet Teddy Bear, the big boy who lives up to his name. He is looking for a family that's consistently home, a large quiet yard to patrol, a lap to crawl into at night, and a furry friend to play with in the in between. Teddy loves other dogs and cats. He has lived with a small cat for the past two years without issue and will only give her a sniff if she walks by. Teddy is unaware of his size, so he is not suitable for younger children. Outside, Teddy is in his element and loves it! A private fenced yard in a quiet area is what would be best for Teddy. Inside, Teddy wants to stay by you in a spot where he can watch all entrances, but will eventually fall asleep. Noisy households stress him out and he would prefer to guard you in your office over trying to sleep with lots of movement and people. He is house trained, doesn't chew, waits to eat his dinner with you, respects boundaries/no-go zones, and won't bark unless someone knocks on the door. He walks beautifully on a leash and head collar, but busy roads and bicycles can make walks stressful. He is well-trained and knows many commands. As a livestock guardian dog, he has been bred to be able to make decisions to protect his family, making him independent, intelligent, willful, and just a touch stubborn. He will need a confident owner experienced with livestock guardian dogs who will know how to handle him testing boundaries. Teddy is a sweet, well-behaved dog looking for an experienced family and a quiet property to protect.
