Ursa is a beautiful orange Husky mix that was given up due to a fondness for eating chickens. Her behavior is very typical of the breed and she is going to do best with someone who has genuine Husky experience. She comes across as aloof at first and needs time to gain your trust. True to her breed, she is always looking for an "out" as well, so any potential placement would need to be keen on any possible escape routes for her whether that be a gate she can sneak though or boards she can bust through or fences she can climb. She currently does not appear to be a fan of many other dogs, but we are still getting to know her. She has decided that a few of the regular volunteers can be her friends and she will come up to us and hang out. She does enjoy belly rubs and is a picky eater. Her beautiful coat will require work with regular brushings, and of course there is going to be a lot of hair. Our ideal placement for her will be one with Husky experience, patience, and no other pets. Generally Huskies are not good apartment or condo dogs, so we would prefer single family or town homes for her.
