Connie is a very curious girl who loves to explore her world! She is very sweet and loves being around her people. She can be goofy and rambunctious when she is playing and she doesn't seem to be aware of her size, so she would be too much for small children. She LOVES to go for long walks and would be perfect for someone looking for a walking/hiking buddy! She responds to "heel" when she is on leash and doesn't generally pull too much, but in true hound fashion sometimes squirrels or bunnies will make her want to go off road. She will be happiest with lots of sniff breaks on a walk to check out new environments. Connie has a well-rounded personality so she is full of energy when she is on walks, but she is also content to play by herself with a dog puzzle toy or nap nearby as you do other things. Connie would do best in a home with a fenced yard, and one with people who like daily walks. She would love being in a home where there is someone present for much of the day even post-COVID, because even though she doesn't need constant attention, she likes knowing her people are close. She sleeps well in her crate or a dog bed at night. She is still learning to like riding in the car, but she is good at staying in her designated space when in a car. Although Connie takes treats very gently and is friendly with other dogs outside of her own space, she would do best as the only dog in the home as she doesn't like to share her food or toys.
