Louie was surrendered by his owner to a shelter in South Carolina along with 5 other dogs. They were not socialized and we think they lived outside. Louie is looking for a home with another dog and a secure fenced yard.
His striking eyes speak vividly of the fear he feels inside. It is heartbreaking at times to imagine what could have caused such a feeling of sadness and distrust. But with love, patience, and acceptance, this dog flourishes and the softness that paints over his face will melt you.
He wags his tail and gently lays on his back for belly rubs. He LOVES belly rubs. And he enjoys playing with his siblings outside and just finding a nice shaded tree to sleep under peacefully. Louie is an old soul wise and grown beyond his puppy years. He needs a home that honors and respects that and lets him find his peace and happiness on his terms. Louie will also benefit greatly from another patient and loving furry friend who can show him the ways.
With time and love, uncertainty and fear will be a distant chapter and Louie will blossom like so many others who have shared such a journey. Will you be his guardian and give him that chance?
