Andy is gentle, calm, and quiet. He was surrendered by his owner to a shelter in South Carolina along with 5 other dogs. They were not socialized and we think they lived outside. Andy is looking for a home with another dog and a secure fenced yard.

Andy is timid and shy but he is more social than the others. He likes to play with other dogs, but after a quick romp he is ready to snuggle in his foster mom's lap or to sit with the kids (age 8 and 10) and get pets. Andy also likes snuggling in the dog bed with the boxer mix in his foster home.

Andy can be timid and will need some patience and coaxing to bring him out of his shell. He is getting used to all the sounds in the house - microwave, vacuum, doors shutting. He is a good listener and is learning to sit. Andy enjoys going outside for walks and will stop to listen and look at anything that seems new to him like cars, bicycles, or runners. He is curious about other dogs in the neighborhood and seems interested to meet them. Andy is a smart little dog and would benefit from learning basic commands. He is house trained and settles well in his crate.
