Before coming to HART, Onyx's short life was spent on the end of an outside tether by the parking lot of an apartment complex. Someone stepped in, got the person to surrender him, and helped get him to safety. Onyx is still very much a puppy, with lots of puppy energy and spunk, in search of an active person or family who is also willing to invest time in his training. Typical of a puppy, he plays hard, then naps, then repeats it all throughout the day. He loves to chew on things, and needs tough, durable chew toys. He loves children but needs to learn not to be mouthy and not to jump on them. He loves to go on walks, but needs to learn not to pull on the leash. He is very smart, and is treat motivated. He is still growing physically, and could be 60 pounds or more when full grown.
