Sam is a very friendly fellow, who loves people and other dogs. Shy at first, Sam warms up quickly. He loves to run loose in his foster mom's fenced backyard, keeping the squirrels on their toes. He will play with dog toys when he is alone, but hasn't learned fetch just yet. He enjoys sleeping on the couch with you, and riding in the car. Sam needs someone who is home for most of the day, and would enjoy having a dog friend who would play with him. Because he is a little skittish, we are not sure whether he would be a good fit for a home with small children. He is very well behaved with the three very small dogs in his foster home. Sam is still learning to walk on a leash and does seem to be house-trained.
