Freya is a young, intelligent and high energy girl looking for a home with an active owner who wants a devoted companion they can take everywhere (jogging, hiking, to dinner, to wineries/breweries, etc.). She loves toys and will often entertain herself, although she would much rather play with you. She loves to chew and is good about sticking to her own toys. She recently learned to fetch. She would do great in a home interested in dog sports (agility, tracking, flyball, etc.). This girl just loves to go!
Freya is quiet in her crate at night and when left during the day. She is house trained. She knows Sit, Down, Leave It, Wait, Stay and Come, but needs the structure and practice that come with obedience classes to help her learn to listen despite distractions. She will do almost anything for your attention and finds a kind word and a scratch under the chin almost as rewarding as food.
Freya can be a little vocal and mouthy when she gets excited. She is good with young children in controlled situations, but needs a home with calm older children or adults only. She is not good with cats. She loves other dogs, but sometimes has trouble respecting their wishes, so she needs careful introductions. She would do best as an only dog, or in a home with a calm playful male dog of a similar size.
