Attention: The safety of our adopters and volunteers is our highest priority. HART has resumed adoption events at the Chantilly Petsmart. We ask that adopters that are not fully vaccinated wear a mask while outside and that all adopters, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask while indoors.

Freya is a big goofy puppy. She is quiet in her crate at night and when left during the day. She is perfectly house trained. She loves toys and will entertain herself, although she should be restricted to indestructible toys. She does have a tendency to chew but she is easy to redirect to appropriate toys.

Freya is fearless, high energy, and loves to run. She would be fantastic at agility or make a great jogging buddy. Mental exercise would be good for her. She knows Sit and Down and listens to commands well once you have her attention. She is practicing Leave It and Wait. She is still working on her leash skills.

Freya wants to play with the other dogs in her foster home, but her manners with other dogs does need some work. She is more polite with dogs bigger than her, but should be supervised around smaller or similarly sized dogs, as she doesn't take correction well if they don't like being bounced or are not in the mood to play. She would do well as an only dog, or possibly in a home with a larger dog that will tolerate rough or noisy play.

Freya is very mouthy and still learning not to jump on people, so would do best in a home with older children or adults only. She has shown some herd dog tendencies, so a home without cats might be best. Freya has great potential and a prospective adopter should be prepared to spend a lot of time supervising, exercising, and reinforcing the rules to help her achieve it. She is worth it and will make someone a fantastic companion!
