Everyone is a friend to Darcy! This dog is super friendly and so far has not met anyone (human or canine) that she doesn't like. She has plenty of puppy energy and loves playing a lot with the foster's dog. The foster says that she also seems to do ok with their cat too. They are being careful to monitor the cat interactions closely because Darcy wants to play (and chase), but Darcy is quick to back off when they tell her to. With the right cat sibling, the foster tells us that she believes Darcy will be fine with cats. She is a very smart dog and very eager to learn and please. She's also learning to sit, stay, walk on a leash, and stop jumping up on people (she wants to get close to everyone!). Darcy came to us very thin and clearly was not getting enough to eat. Sometimes this means the dog will be a bit protective of food around other dogs. Often this resolves itself when the dog learns that they are not hungry all the time. Darcy is not at all protective of her food around people and as much as she loves the other dog in the home, she did let the other dog know (with just a slight growl) that she did not want to share the food. The foster family believes this will resolve itself once she gains some weight but is something we wanted to explain because she would be a great companion to a family that has another playful dog. If you are interested in this friendly and playful dog please let us know.
