Attention: The safety of our adopters and volunteers is our highest priority. HART has resumed adoption events at the Chantilly Petsmart. We ask that adopters that are not fully vaccinated wear a mask while outside and that all adopters, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask while indoors.

We named her Promise because we had no more room on the transport to bring her and we told her that we would come back for her. We kept our word - and we are so glad we did. Promise is very shy and clearly has not have a good life so far. She had puppies at some point before she was dumped at the poor rural shelter, but she did not come with any of her puppies. She is not yet in a foster home but she is very good at the kennel and keeps her run clean. She is quiet even when the other dogs are barking. She seems to want to make friends with the dogs in the runs next to her and has been very good with dogs introductions. We have told Promise that life will be very different from this point on and we will help her come out of her shell and have a home with someone who will love her and be kind to her. This is another promise we have made to this sweet dog. If you are interested in Promise, and helping us keep our promises to her, please let us know.
