We think Evee is an extraordinarily special dog. She was found in an abandoned home with her 9 little puppies who were about four weeks old at the time she was found. How she managed to survive and keep all of her puppies alive, we do not know. Once she and her puppies were rescued from the abandoned home, they were taken to a high kill shelter in the south. The shelter staff recognized right away that Evee was the sweetest dog and an amazing mother to her huge litter of puppies - and so they begged and begged for a rescue to take her. When we heard Evee's story, we told the shelter that HART would take her and her puppies. Evee's foster mom has wonderful things to say about her. Now that her puppies are weaned, she is running around and really enjoying life. She loves being with people, meeting new people, and is very devoted to her foster family. And she seems to be very cat friendly too. She does great in the car and was perfect at the vets. She's also not reactive to loud noises and she doesn't mind vacuums or mops. She walks very well on a leash - very minimal pulling and takes redirection easily. Her foster mom has told us that Evee's extremely intelligent and she thinks if a family wanted to put her into obedience classes she would do wonderfully. It is Evee's time to shine now after being such a devoted mother to her puppies. If you are interested in Evee please let us know.
