Bessie

Bessie radiates kindness, good energy, and affection. Truly, temperamentally, Bessie is a gem. She is housetrained and has good house manners. She loves other dogs and plays great with the foster's other dogs. She also is a dream to take on walks or hikes because she does not pull and has no problem going out for long walks or hikes. She does need exercise every day and we would love her to go to a home with another playful dog and/or a very active person who loves to go on long walks or hikes or runs. . Also, she is excellent in the crate, settles well and not a barker. She also loves to play with dog toys. Add to that her super versatile medium size and it's a bit of a head scratcher how this lovely girl hasn't been snatched up. She also has had great interactions children including the young son of one of our volunteers.

While we don't know all the ins and outs of Bessie's past, we do know she was a wonderful mama to her eight puppies. They all ended up in a kill shelter but she had managed to keep them all alive before someone found her and her puppies. Bessie's eager to please, smart ("shake" appears to be in her repertoire), and housebroken. All of Bessie's babes have since been adopted and it is well past time for this mama to have her time in the sun. Bessie is an absolute sweetheart who would love nothing more than a person to snuggle up to. Could that person be you? Are you the forever home Bessie is so deserving of? She and we sure hope so!
