Hands down - everyone loves this dog!! One day, in the middle of a snowstorm in the Appalachia mountains, someone dumped Huckleberry in the freezing cold. This sweet dog spent many days alone and took shelter in a storm drain for protection. Neighbors saw him and called the local animal shelter, and finally the animal control officer was able to get Huckleberry! This sweet boy thought he was finally safe - only to realize he landed in a noisy, overcrowded shelter. HART came to his aid and rescued this boy! What we've discovered since is Huckleberry loves all people and has the kind of tail wag that just makes your heart happy. He never goes potty in his kennel run and instead always waits to go outside in the fenced yard. He loves to run and play ball. Notwithstanding his dark past, he is all light! He's such a happy boy with a delightful personality, like he never had a bad day in his life. He's is not a barker and does not have any interest in chasing squirrels or chipmunks and would much rather play with another dog or play ball. He is also super easy to bath - he seems to like getting baths. He would also be a great walking or running partner. He's already put his past behind him and is ready for the next chapter of life.
