Sydney (formerly Maya Blue Eyes)

Sydney is beautiful, smart, gentle and sweet. She is very loving, playful and house-trained. She has a very short tail and when she sees someone she loves, her whole body wiggles in delight! She likes snuggling with you on the couch and adores belly rubs.

She is intelligent and eager to please. She loves to be outside in the yard with her person or her dog buddy, and enjoys walks, especially in the woods.

She wants to be your friend and do everything you ask, but sometimes the world is a little too scary for her. She can be a little slow to warm up to new people and likes to have a safe space of her own. She is cautiously happy to meet most people, but she is generally a little more timid with men. Based on a few encounters, she seems to be fine with children.

She was initially shy with the fosters' cat but now fears the cat because it lashed out at her unprovoked. We are unsure if she will be fearful of all cats now. She is initially timid with most dogs but would probably do well sharing a home with a confident, playful dog, and as the videos show, once she's comfortable with another dog, she loves to run and play!

Sydney was surrendered to a shelter, her back story is unknown. She's made steady progress but needs someone experienced with anxious dogs, who will be very patient and loving with her.
