Kiwi A

Meet Kiwi (nicknamed Kai). Kai's DNA shows he is 50% German Shepard, 18% Border Collie and 16% Collie and the rest is classified as Supermutt! Given his inheritance, Kai is a very smart dog. In addition to his natural smarts, he is also very loving and affectionate. Kai came to us with his two brothers (Mango and Coco) when they were about 3 months old and they were all very scared. Kai and his brothers have blossomed, but Kai is still very scared of new surroundings. In his foster home he is a bouncy and playful pup who absolutely adores playing with the resident dogs inside and out in the fence yard. He is so eager to please and interested in learning. He has made incredible progress in a couple of weeks of walking perfectly in the back yard on leash with his foster parents (staying by their side and looking up at them for direction). However, the world outside his home and fenced yard is still very scary for him so they are continuing to acclimate him to being on a leash outside of his safe zone. He has gained a great deal of confidence by following and watching the other dogs in the home. Given all of this, Kai will need a home with another playful and confident dog and a secure fenced yard. He is very attentive and observant and is learning new things all the time. His foster parents, who had had many dogs and many dozens of foster dogs over the years are very fond of him and have told us how smart he is and also that he has the potential to be an extraordinary companion.
