Copper

Copper is proof that a smile can light up a room. This handsome 4-year-old boy always seems to have a happy grin on his face, and his sweet, loving personality is just as irresistible.

Copper came to HART after his owner could no longer care for him. Before arriving, he suffered an old injury to his left rear leg that was never treated properly. As a result, Copper usually gets around on three legs, although he occasionally uses all four. Don't let that fool you - he runs around the yard, climbs stairs, and keeps up just fine! We had a vet evaluate him, and a trial of pain medication didn't change his mobility, suggesting he has adapted well. At this time, he doesn't appear to be in pain. Right now he's living life happily just as he is.

This affectionate boy loves people and happily comes when called. He's great with other dogs, ignored the cats he's met, and does well with children, making him a wonderful addition to many different kinds of families.

Copper is crate trained and relaxes comfortably in his crate when his foster family is away. He's about 95% house trained and continues to do well. One of his favorite pastimes is emptying the toy box in search of the perfect toy to carry around! Let us know if you want to meet Copper!
