When a HART volunteer saw Journey peering through the bars at an overcrowded shelter, she knew she could not leave him behind. And what a handsome and playful guy he turned out to be! He looks like a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Face of one, body of another. But whatever his mix, his family still left him at the shelter after crating him for hours on end and letting their children tease him while in a crate. As a result, he sometimes gets unpredictably anxious around children, which makes households with kids not very suitable for this otherwise love-bug personality. He is very fond of food and treats, so he needs regular exercise to avoid his gaining weight. To help him gain self-confidence and his boyish figure back, his foster established a lengthy playtime filled with fetching and wrestling every day. He took to it immediately and now squeals from excitement before each session. He is kind and will gladly share his stuffed toys with you, bringing them, one by one, to lay at your feet until they turn into a little pile of stuffed offerings. One thing he has difficulty sharing is the couch, so keeping him off the furniture might be a good idea. He gets along great with other dogs once he gets to know them and is totally crate- and house-trained. Could you be the family for Journey, so he can bring you his favorite stuffed toys in witness of his fluffy love for years to come?
