Babs is such a wonderful dog. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. She is drawn to people and children and is very gentle and calm. She would make an excellent family dog and is awesome with babies and young children. She would also be an ideal first dog. She came as a stray to a shelter in a rural part of Virginia and appears to have had a recent litter of puppies. The puppies had been weaned and were no longer with her. She seems to be mostly lab, is about 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. She gets along great with other dogs and is very submissive. Babs is housebroken and has excellent manners, but must have been allowed on the furniture as she was SO HAPPY to see the couch when she got to her new foster home after spending a few weeks in shelters and kennels. She knows "sit" and "come" but hasn't had much training in the past so needs work on leash walking and other commands. Training will start in her foster home, but she will need to have that continued. This is a very special, gentle, sweet lady who with a little work could be a "canine good citizen" or a therapy dog, or just an A plus family pet. Please come meet her!
